# Simple Lab Tools: Label Maker MCP

Use this service when a user asks an agent to make printable laboratory sample
labels, cryogenic tube labels, freezer labels, QR-coded labels, or label sheets.

1. Call list_label_templates and match the template to the user's physical stock.
   Supported IDs: LCRY-1700 (85 positions), LCRY-1200 (60), LCRY-2380 (119),
   LCRY-1100 (52), LCRY-1258 (30), SIDE-1000 (156). All use US Letter sheets.
2. Call create_label_sheet with plain text labels. Example arguments:

3. Give the user printUrl and editUrl. The sheet field is JSON that the editor
   accepts with Import JSON. Copies are consecutive for each input label.
   startPosition is 1-based, left to right then down. Empty strings reserve slots.
   Each call produces one sheet. Overflow is rejected; split larger batches.
4. Open printUrl, review, and print at 100% actual size on US Letter paper with
   no margins, headers, or footers. Save as PDF is available in the print dialog.
   Browser PDF exporters: wait for window.labelsReady === true, check that
   window.labelPrintError is empty, then export with preferCSSPageSize: true,
   printBackground: true, and zero margins. Overlong text is flagged, not cropped.

Server resource: simplelabtools://labels/guide
Physical printing requires access to the user's printer or an authorized local
print integration. Creating a sheet does not submit a physical print job.

Privacy: inputs are processed without being stored. This service cannot read or
change saved workspaces. The complete URLs encode labels in the URL fragment;
anyone holding a link can read them. Avoid logging sensitive labels or links.
